Simultaneous Equations Homework

Remember! If you have any problems or questions you put them on the discussion in the Maths Forum, post under the "Simultaneous Equations" topic or you can post your question on whatsapp. Those who post and reply will gain participation marks for your end of term assessment.

A)   Post a link in the comments below to a website or a video that you found useful related to Simultaneous Equations.

B) Wiki:
On your wiki, create a new page for this topic entitled "Simultaneous Equations"
Type the steps involved in solving the following simultaneous equations ( or you can post a picture of your handwritten solution):
     1)   2x + y = 4
     2)   x y = −1

C) Use Geogebra to solve the following pairs of equations:
    3)     x y = 2
    4)   2x + y = 10
You can use Jing to make a short video, or show a screendump of the two lines and the intersection point and upload your picture/video to your wiki.

D) Check your answers to both of the above using the calculator method, again take a picture of your calculator screen showing the values entered on the calculator screen and post them on your wiki.

E) Complete the assessment.

F) I would appreciate it if you would take a moment to complete the survey on what you thought of this lesson. It is completely anonymous and will help make this lesson better!

Well done! After all your hard work I think it's time for some make and do:
Click on the picture on the right and print out the page that appears, cut out the square and fold it quarters to make a 'Chatterbox' (also known as a 'wheel of fortune'; if you don't have a clue what I'm talking about, take a look here for instructions ).
